Retraction... No mention of Art's Filipino wife, Ramona... - Posted Jul 02, 2001

To the PDI,

I have just reviewed the so-called "retraction" printed by your newspaper, which so irresponsibly published the slanderous accusations about Art Bell and am disturbed that you have not even bothered to mention that Art is married to a woman who is of Filipino origin.

Do you not realize that you are insulting one of your own by failing to acknowledge her existence in the life of the man you perpetrated this fraud against? In addition, the tone of this so-called retraction is very carefully worded so that those who are more interested in believing these lies than in understanding the truth will see it as a mere appeasement rather than an admission of wrongdoing.

To me, nothing less than stating "We are embarassed at our mistake and admit we were very wrong." does NOT qualify as a retraction in the least! Anyone with any intelligence will refuse to regard this newspaper as anything but trash until this is done! You have failed to redeem yourselves from this mistake, and your failure to do so will continue to damage your credibility until you do.
