I'm shocked and appalled by the way the PDI and Leah Salterios are going after Art Bell. It's a low-down dirty shame to see a so-called newspaper and one of its purported journalists sink to this level.
When I read about the latest episode in this outrageous smear campaign, I became so angry that I had to let some time pass before writing anything about it. To be honest, I'm still pretty upset.
As far as I'm concerned, Art Bell is a person of great integrity who would never, ever say what he's been accused of saying. One only needs to listen to his radio show to hear the courtesy with which he treats his guests and callers, even if he doesn't agree with them.
I've been listening to Coast to Coast pretty regularly for some time, and I've never heard Art Bell disrespect anyone. To the contrary: Listening to Mr. Bell has enhanced my ability to be open-minded and tolerant. I have learned much from him.
I'm so sorry the situation has escalated to the point where Mr. Bell and his family are receiving death threats. I pray to God nothing happens. If something does, I hope the PDI and Salterios are charged as accomplices.
I don't know how the PDI can expect anything positive to result from printing such outrageous lies. Moreover, I can only imagine what hidden agendas might lurk beneath the surface of this situation.
What a sad commentary on life in the 21st century. Instead of becoming more enlightened, some people and institutions seem content to just sink into a mire that's completely devoid of decency, values, and integrity.
Art, you and your family please hang in there and stay safe. You have a lot of support out here.
