I have seen some pretty rotten journalism in my life. I have read some news
articles that could have been written better by my 5 year old. I have also
seen innocent people get slandered across the pages of a local
newspaper...but never in my life have I read something so ridiculous! Those
statement against the Filipinos is the biggest bunch of...well, CRAP I've
ever seen.Heck, I've seen less crap in a cow field!
First of all, as Keith was pointing out, we all do need to remember
that anyone can post anything about any subject, at anytime over the
Internet. There's not too much that can be done about that. I seriously hope
that at some point there will be some sort of laws passed that will protect
people a little better on the Internet, so that these cases don't continue to
happen.
Mr. Bell has provided us with one of the most professionally run radio
talk shows I personally have ever heard. His interviews are polite, well
mannered, not even REMOTELY biased in any way, shape or form, especially to
any person, or group of people. For him to be that way would be the same as
putting himself out of business. Mr. Bell is such a tremendous success
because of his professionalism, his relaxed and inviting personality, and his
willingness to share his own personal experiences over the air....and this is
on top of the wonderful list of topics that he has chosen to bring to the
public's attention.
Keith Rowland has done some incredible work for this program, and has
provided us all with a well laid out, professional and up to date web site,
that's easy to get through and edited in a manner that is easy to comprehend.
No matter which page I go to on this site, I am never confused as to where I
am in the site, what I am looking at, the pictures aren't fuzzy or smeared in
anyway, and there are no hard to find links or HTML addresses.
Both Mr. Bell and Mr. Rowland deserve nothing but the deepest respect
from the Art Bell Show listeners. For those who do not fully understand what
it takes to put out a program like this, there's only one way to describe
it...it's a literal never ending job, that must become a part of your life,
even when you're on vacation. When you're a public figure, as Mr. Bell and
Mr. Rowland are, everyone knows you. Everyone wants your picture, the news is
always trying to find something about you that has never been printed
before...and no matter what area of journalism or media you are in, you come
to fully expect that some people will not agree with everything you have to
say, or put over the Internet. It goes with the territory, and most of the
time, it's brushed off and forgotten about.
THIS is over the top. The printing of this news (if that's really what
you want to call it, because it's not news in my opinion) article is
absolutely absurd! I certainly hope that who ever is behind this bunch of
'hoo-ha' is found, arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I feel this way about anyone who is the cause of such slanderous and outright
malicious behavior!
