Dear Editor,
I would suggest that you do a little fact checking before you publish
an article that has the potential to ruin someone's life. That's why
it's called "journalism" and not "fiction."
The story you ran in today's editon about Art Bell's supposed racist
comments is a forgery posted by anonymous cowards in a blatant
attempt to ruin the reputation of an honest and hardworking man. I
am sure by now you have been lambasted with the account of the
original posting three years ago from a computer at the University
of California, San Diego. All this lame attempt to protect your
"Filipino pride" has done is put Art and his family in danger, and
made you people look like a bunch of backwoods morons.
This information has been posted on his web site for THREE
YEARS! A quick visit to www.artbell.com would have cleared up
the entire matter. Perhaps there is no Filipino word for "research?"
This man has been through enough already. Unless you are ready
for a long and ugly legal campaign I suggest you recant
immediately. I hope your email server can handle the wrath of Art's
entire listening community, because it's coming your way.
